Subject to applicable law, employment at Centerspace is at-will team members are free to resign at any time, with or without notice or cause. Similarly, Centerspace may terminate, modify, or otherwise change the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice or cause. In certain states where Centerspace operates, employment laws do not permit at-will employment. For example, where the employment relationship is governed by Montana law, all new team members are subject to a probationary period of the first twelve (12) months of active employment. Centerspace is permitted to end the employment relationship at any time for any lawful reason during the probationary period with or without cause or advance notice. After the probationary period ends, team members may be terminated only for cause as defined in the Wrongful Discharge in Employment Act.
Policies set forth in this team member handbook are not a contract, nor are they to be construed to constitute contractual obligations of any kind or a contract of employment between Centerspace and any of its team members. The provisions of the team member handbook have been developed at the discretion of Centerspace and, except for its policy of employment at-will which is in effect except where prohibited by state law, may be amended or cancelled at any time, at Centerspace’s sole discretion.
These provisions supersede all existing policies and practices.
