Centerspace recognizes that it is occasionally necessary for team members to make or receive personal telephone calls during work hours. The company requests that team members restrict personal use of Centerspace phones to emergency situations or occasional/infrequent use. Team members may not charge personal long-distance calls to the Company (for exceptions related to Business Travel, see the Travel and Entertainment Policy).
With the exception of occasional, incidental, or emergency calls/texts, the use of personal mobile phones for personal business, during work hours, is not acceptable. These devices may be used during paid and unpaid breaks. If team member use of personal mobile phone is excessive, disruptive, or causes a loss in productivity, the team member will be subject to disciplinary action.
As a representative of Centerspace, mobile phone users are reminded that the regular business etiquette employed when speaking from office phones or in meetings applies to conversations conducted over a mobile phone.
Certain positions will be issued a company-owned mobile phone, which are to be used solely for company business. Personal use of a company-owned mobile phone, including excessive data usage due to personal use, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Team members will likely have access to a mobile phone in their cars and should remember that their primary responsibility is driving safely. When mobile phone communications are necessary when driving, care should be taken to ensure responsible driving and hands-free methods (for calls and talk-to-text) are expected to be used in accordance with all applicable state laws.
