Getting started with Teams Calling feature:
- Click on Calls in the left navigation pane.
- You will see options for your Speed dial, Contacts, History, and Voicemail.
- Starting with the Speed dial screen, you have 3 initial groups:
- Speed Dial, where it is recommended you add contacts you will call most often
- My Team, where you should add your immediate team members
- Suggested contacts, which Microsoft will populate.
- You can also add New groups as you feel are necessary.
- Contacts can be added by clicking on the ellipsis (…), then selecting “Add a contact to this group”.
- Then when you start to enter the person’s name, suggested options will appear. Select the option you are searching for and then click “Add”.
- Before making a call, it is suggested that you check the Availability or Status of the team member you plan to call.
- Here are the different Statuses you will encounter, and what they mean to you:
Green indicates “Available”
Yellow indicates “Away”
Red indicates “Busy”
Black indicates “Offline”
- Time to make a call. If your call is to someone in one of your groups, you can click on the phone symbol in your team members card.
- You can also call directly from the Chat window.
- If the Centerspace team member you need to call is not a regular contact, you can go to the Contacts tab and locate that individual there and check their status.
- Status can be seen readily in the list of contacts.
- You can also Search for the team member in the “Make a Call” section in the lower left.
- Start typing the name in the “Type a name” blank and select from the populated suggestions.
- The main difference is that to check their status, you will need to hover over the contact you selected.
- When the name populates you can click on the phone symbol to place the call.
